Cross pattern movement in hemiparesis. Walking with cross percussions – Tubía method
Cross pattern movement means using the opposite arm and leg at the same time. Sensory and motor neurons on both sides of the brain are activated, requiring them to work in coordination to move the opposite arm and leg.
In the cross percussion gait, the two diagonals of opposite hand-leg coordination are integrated in a movement of set unity, alternating one and the other coordination.
